Macfarlane Packaging, Network Packaging’s parent company, has announced its fifth annual unboxing survey results. The survey aims to lift the lid on consumer’s online delivery experiences and this year’s survey looked specifically at the quality and sustainability of the packaging solutions being used.
Results from the survey have revealed that consumers continue to welcome more sustainable packaging choices from retailers, with 63% of respondents saying that packages were recyclable – up 12% year on year. Findings have also highlighted that there’s still opportunity to enhance the consumer experience, as 32% of packs received were unbranded and 33% had no returns information.
Whilst 2020 has seen a huge demand on internet retailers due to Covid-19 lockdown causing a spike in online shopping, our group’s survey results show that packaging quality has not been compromised. 89% of consumers reported packaging appears to be the same as before the pandemic.
Martin Dunn, Sales Director for Network Packaging commented: “Our group’s survey results show that retailers continue to deliver successful customer experiences through packaging, despite challenging conditions this year.”
